AVS FENCING HAS STRONG FIRST QUARTER
DESPITE WEATHER AND SUPPLY-SIDE WORRIES
John Brett, MD of AVS Fencing, has reported ambitious growth plans are on the table following a great start to 2018.
“The year started with so many supply-side issues, which are still playing out; and such adverse weather! However our pre-planning and significant upfront investment in stock has really paid off. We committed last year in our ‘Right here, right now!’ campaign to ensure to always hold sufficient levels of materials in stock so our customers can rely on us completely. We are ahead of the game because of the systems put in place at that time.”
The introduction of the new branch in Aylesbury at Hartwell Nursery has met its targets; with the bonus of the additional landscaping expertise coming into AVS. The desire to find new opportunities to acquire businesses remains a key objective. “We currently have 9 branches across the south and east of England. Our buying processes and systems are very robust. Incorporating more branches is something we are actively looking to do” John Brett exclusively revealed to Fencing and Landscaping News.
Sales Director, Marc Coulson, announced another development. “We have been working on a new trade website which is being phased in this autumn. It includes a quoting facility using both retail and trade prices, access to account specific prices, actual stock availability and of course, the ability to order on line. This represents a big leap forward from where we and others are now. Research has shown that it is exactly what our customers are looking for to improve service to their clients.”
