Brookridge goes from strength to strength

Founded in 1981,  Brookridge Timber has grown substantially since those heady beginnings with 55 staff now employed across the company’s two locations at Cullompton in Devon and Bridgwater in Somerset.

Director Chris Jandrell, who’s been with Brookridge for over 20 years, took up the story: “We’re facing the future with a positive state of mind. The timber and fencing market in the South West is good, and over the years Brookridge Timber has been successful in adapting the products and service it offers to the changing demands of the market.”

“The vast majority of our customers are trade with the reputation we’ve established for flexibility and great service over the past 36 years playing a big part in our success.”

“The company prides itself on its ability to deal with short lead times which are generally shorter than the industry standard. Construction firms requiring fencing products often contact us at the last minute, and we are invariably able to respond promptly due mainly to the large stocks of finished product we hold on both sites. Word soon gets out if you can be responsive and reliable.”

“Brookridge has a flourishing fencing side to the business and for many years we have been promoting pine fencing posts treated to user class 4 with our treatment operations on both sites audited on a regular basis by our treatment provider Koppers”

Brookridge Timber’s pine fence posts are treated under this audited process with Koppers Performance Chemicals’ Micropro and Microshades systems offering longevity and peace of mind for the end user.”

“Brookridge has worked with Koppers for the past 20 years. They are a trusted partner for us and together we have been at the forefront of developing new treatment products for the market”

“The company treats on average 350 cubic metres of timber every week at our two busy treatment facilities. We purchase timber from UK mills as well as Canada, the Baltics, Germany and Scandanavian nations

“The business has always got an eye on the future and we continue to invest in the business, always looking for ways to  improve our efficiency and product quality. Our latest investments this year include a new Weinig Six Cutter which will increase the productivity in our mill and a curtain side trailer with a moffett giving customers an additional service for offloading their goods on site.

“Whatever the future brings you can rest assured that Brookridge will continue to develop and grow on the back of a solid commitment to our customer service,” concluded Chris
