KDM continues to lead the market in added value timber products, customer service and stock holding. For 2017, KDM International Ltd, have made further investments in its product range, stock holding facilities and IT infrastructure.
KDM are proud of their exceptional customer service levels and inspiring range of outdoor timber products, from the planed and lattice top panels & gates, decorative lattice designs, garden furniture, decking, pergolas and arches to the essential panels, gates and landscaping products.
KDM Sales Director, Ivan Walshe reports, “2016 proved to be a very successful year for the outdoor timber industry but has also thrown up many challenges, in particular the weakening of the pound in the second half. We are very pleased and encouraged to report demand for KDM’s added value products has held up extremely well showing an increase in sales during the same period in 2015. KDM introduced significant price decreases during 2015 and the first half of 2016 however the weaker pound meant we were unable to hold these and are now trading at similar levels prior to the decreases. The continued high demand for KDM’s added value products is welcome news.”
As Ivan further explained, “prices have stabilised, the economy seems to been holding up well and demand has remained strong so we are looking for some modest growth next year. Whilst we are all experiencing price pressure KDM are committed to continue supplying the highest quality products in the market. We will not reduce the quality of our components or component sizes as a quick fix as we believe this will be detrimental to KDM and our distributors sales and profitability. Whilst the economy is uncertain we believe the key to maintaining market share and building successful partnerships is to continue to supply the best quality at the right price with the flexibility to order products and quantities when required. We are committed to holding large volumes of UK and European landed stock ready for immediate collection or delivery either via our depots or direct from the factory.”
KDM’s Louise Aston added, “through our product range, stock holding, marketing literature and flexibility of service our customers are able to respond to every opportunity. Our aim is to provide our customers with the ability to order small volumes on a wide variety of products and therefore giving them greater access to different market sectors.”
KDM have introduced a number of new product lines for the 2017 season, as Jim Menzies explained, “our main additions for the new season are the green pressure treated Tongue & Groove Lattice Top panel at 150cm and 120cm high to match the 180cm we currently supply. All components are kiln dried, profiled, pressure treated and dried again prior to manufacture. Whilst remaining very competitively priced, the panels are constructed with ex 19mm x 125mm boards, a heavier frame work and decorative lattice top, all complementing our existing products. We have also added a new gate, bench and patio dining set.”
Ivan concluded, “KDM’s aim is to continue to offer exclusive and original products that meet the very highest standards of timber manufacturing and treatment. Our philosophy is to add and improve specifications. We believe the way to increase sales is to improve the whole purchase experience for the final customer.”
Full details of KDM’s new and improved products will be highlighted in their 2017 brochure. Further details will be sent out with their 2017 brochure and covering letter in December.
