A lot has happened since August 2009 when Equestrian Fencing & Timber were last featured within the pages of Fencing & Landscaping so many ways!

There’s been a big shift in focus for starters from the Hampshire-based business founded in the early 1990s by Dan Dennis.

Dan explained: “Since the 2009 feature we have developed the yard and concreted the entire area. We’ve also erected a large amount of racking plus we’ve built new offices and a dedicated retail counter with large covered storage area for plywood and internal timbers.

“The structure of the business has changed from equestrian fencing contracting to now being a complete one stop fencing & timber merchant athough we still have fencing contracting gangs and teams erecting stables, barns, oak garages across the south of England.

“From modest beginnings the company provided a fencing contracting service throughout Hampshire and far beyond with contracts being completed in countries such as France and Belgium. Following the closure of a couple of local sawmills and timber merchants in the early 2000s, I saw the opportunity to stock the yard with fencing products and building timber which there was a great demand for from our customers.

“All of our panels and gates are produced on site and are a key part of our success. Our team of over 20 hard working staff have been instrumental in our growth and success over the years, all of whom are experienced in many different aspects of the business and contribute to the smooth running and efficiency.

“Looking forward, we are aiming to target more retail customers with our new purpose-built shop and an all important display area soon to be completed. We are also hoping to open another branch to service more of the Hampshire area,” added Dan.

Equestrian Fencing and Timber Ltd hold a massive stock of materials and are one of the largest privately owned Independent Fencing Merchants in the South of England. This forward thinking company is always introducing new lines to their stock list which has been key to their growth.

Dan and his team are also acutely aware of their environmental obligations and recently added a solar panel system to generate their own electricity along with a Biomass Plant burning wood waste to heat all the workshops and buildings on site, negating the need to dispose of this waste product by road.

Dan went on “We are never standing still, always striving to get the best products and offer the best possible customer service. Business is always changing!

“Our growth has been helped by the continued support of all our suppliers, most importantly the continued support from Will Dickenson and Sue Crane of Trojan Timber.

They have been instrumental with their great service and support since 2001 and we owe them a big “Thankyou”.

“We look forward to our further progression and development across the region,” concluded Dan.

A lot of water has indeed passed under the bridge since 2009 but it seems that Dan and his team are most definitely not going with the flow!
