Thirty-year-old Oxford Brookes University graduate Peter Boulton has been appointed Contracts Manager at Cotswold Decorative Ironworkers after working for the company for five years, as a fitter of their fencing and gates.
Peter, who was born in Portsmouth and grew up near Winchester, now lives in Chipping Norton. He attended Ditcham Park School, read Business Information Systems at Oxford Brookes, and graduated in 2010 with a 2:2 degree. He decided not to go into the computer-related industry, or the hospitality sector, where he’d worked while at college.
Peter explained: “I’d spent occasional days with CDI at Marsh Farm, near Shipston-on-Stour during 2011, and developed an appetite for being outdoors doing physical work, which also helped with my fitness levels for playing rugby, my main sporting interest. It was hard labouring work but I also had the opportunity to be in the workshop to upgrade my practical skills. I readily took to fence fitting work and that has continued.
“As Contracts Manager I do the majority of the site visits, the meeting with clients, and then once we’ve given them the quotes, with the help of Director Denise Winter will engage with the clients either over the phone or in meetings through to the completion of the project, making sure both sides are happy with the finished product,” he added.
