The latest Scottish Timber Trade Association (STTA) Members’ Meeting was held in Stirling on 20 June. In addition to the usual Association business, the large number of Members present, which represented a broad cross-section of the timber trade in Scotland, received an interesting and informative presentation on the Scandinavian softwood supply chain from Jason Enticott of UPM-Kymmene.

The Members’ Meeting was followed by the STTA Annual General Meeting, at which Iain Torrance, (James Donaldson Timber Ltd), was re-elected President. Iain said, “I am very pleased to see STTA going from strength to strength; our Members’ meetings provide a valuable opportunity for updating and networking. Specialist speakers provide us with an insight into different aspects of the trade and related industries and organisations. We are keen to encourage the attendance of younger members of the trade at our meetings too, as these learning opportunities can improve their knowledge of the trade and product knowledge as well. After all, ours is a fascinating trade and there is always something to learn”.
