FIRST FENCE INTRODUCES RAPIDSHIELD
Sitting between traditional Heras-style fencing and fully secured bolt-down systems, this category is gaining momentum. First Fence, though slightly later to enter the space, has been carefully listening to market feedback, leading to the development of RapidShield®, a rapid deployment system with a difference.
In an exclusive interview with Fencing News, Product Innovation Manager Toby Roberts-Davies and Managing Director Vinny Kotecha share insights into how the industry has fallen short when it comes to logistics and moveability in rapid deployment fencing.
“The concept of rapid deployment has been innovative and offers clear benefits over traditional temporary fencing, but there are still challenges with storage and transport,” says Roberts-Davies. “Many freestanding systems require ballast tubs or fixed steel frames, which are bulky and cumbersome. So we started from scratch, focusing on making logistics easier.”
The result is a patent-pending design that features a single-piece base unit with a foldable front and back frame. Integrated handles make the unit easy to carry, and when upright, the frame components lock into place, ensuring it’s secure in transit.
RapidShield® is compatible with v-mesh, 868, and 358 mesh systems, available in heights ranging from 1.8m to 3.0m, giving contractors the flexibility to adapt their fencing needs with one system. Additionally, the range includes pedestrian gates at 2.0m and 2.4m heights and vehicle gates at 4.0m width, offering a comprehensive solution for any site. The system uses ZND’s Durablok 50kg ballast blocks for secure installation and can be deployed on flat or angled surfaces up to 15 degrees, thanks to an adjustable clip bracket that allows for flexible positioning.
“As a company, we believe in not just competing in an existing market, but in innovating to create new opportunities,” explains Kotecha. “We want to offer alternatives to contractors who may feel limited by current options.”
With seven locations and over 90 vehicles, First Fence is prepared to deliver RapidShield® quickly, living up to the promise of “rapid” deployment. “Now that we’ve developed a system with a genuine competitive edge, we’re committed to backing it up with the fast delivery times our customers have come to expect,” adds Roberts-Davies.
RapidShield® sets a new standard for temporary fencing, combining ease of use, flexibility, and quick availability—exactly what the industry needs.
