McVeigh Parker opens new bigger depot after just three years.

McVeigh Parker’s newest depot started business in October 2017 and due to rapid expansion driven by the team in Devon, the business has already outgrown the original site. In July we moved to a purpose- built facility only a few miles from where we started in Five Bridges.

Our new yard is a major improvement in all aspects and has over an acre of hardstanding. We are confident this significant investment will mean we can offer an even better service to our customers, stocking more products and enabling us to achieve still faster supply times.

The new site covers 65,000 square feet, and is nearly double the size of the old site, with a huge increase in the storage and loading areas. The site also has new offices built on a mezzanine floor in an open plan building greatly increasing covered storage space. The old site had a covered area of approximately 4,200 square feet which was mostly unusable, whereas the new depot has cover of 10,000 square feet with access for deliveries, staff and customer car parking all massively improved because of its size and off-road location.

Part of the process of preparing our new yard to open for business has been to secure the perimeter, we are doing this with standard stock items from our vast range of fencing products. We have chosen Vmex welded mesh powder coated in green for the yard entrance as this is less imposing and it blends nicely into the surroundings, providing clear visibility whilst adding safety and security.

At the rear of the yard we have erected our multi award winning Triple X fencing system, using the stocked Clipex Beefy posts and Xfence security netting. The long-awaited Open day has been postponed until Covid-19 measures allow for a safe official opening, in the meantime the Devon team can still offer great deals on many leading brands and our own bespoke products. The board of McVeigh Parker have made huge investment at a time when others are streamlining their operations. This is a big vote of confidence in the Devon team as they continue the growth at this branch.

Michael McVeigh said: “We have always tended to invest and grow when the economy is uncertain, our huge stock holding across all eight nationwide depots, keen and knowledgeable staff and our own delivery fleet, are all key to us continuing to expand.”
