REMOTE WORKING JUST THE JOB WITH PROFENCER

The workload of Newbury-based fencing contractor Iain Jermey has been revolutionised following his recent purchase of a Profencer with remote control capabilities.
Iain, who founded I J Agricultural & Equestrian Fencing Services around 28 years ago, has been working with Profencer machines since 2011 but the addition of remote control really has made his life easier in the fields and on the farms of Berkshire and the surrounding counties.
“It’s changed the way I work,” exclaimed Iain “and it means I can walk down the fence line and tighten it up as the Profencer is doing its thing. You’re in total control of progress with a simple keypad and display keeping you in the picture at all times.
“I made the decision last autumn to sell my old machine and replaced it with the same model with the optional extra of remote control. “This is the way forward!” he added.
The addition of remote control helps to save even more time when dispensing and straining wire. Most of the operations can be done from the tractor cab. Loading, side shift, tilt and top link can all be operated from the cab on the move.
On the professional machine you have the advantage of being able to operate the forward shift from up to 300 metres away from the tractor. This means you don’t have to walk back to the tractor to operate the levers to add a little more tension, or release the tension if the netting has snagged on something, then re-tension all from up to 300 metres away.
“It’s an absolutely excellent piece of kit and anyone having a demo with it is almost guaranteed to make the investment.
“My order book is full to the max and a big part of that is down to my Profencer!” concluded Iain.
