Spanish firm EBAKI XXI SA and Gloucestershire-based Geoff Brown Timber Associates are joining forces to expand distribution channels across all major UK ports.
EBAKI, founded 1998 in the heavily forested Basque Region of Northern Spain, was set up to resource the region’s natural mature trees of which a third are Pinus Radiata. Original planting goes back to the 1950’s which provides EBAKI with its PEFC registration.
Processing large diameter logs, EBAKI produces bark free timber for construction and joinery applications including clears and finger jointed clears.
Radiata Pine is kiln dried to 18%-20% enabling it to accept preservation treatment to a UC4 standard, a requirement recently introduced in the UK for products in ground contact.
A container carries around forty cubic meters and can be cut to a number of UK measurements and specifications. On arrival in the UK the goods are unloaded and distributed directly to customers via the road transport network.
