TORNADO WIRE FENCING COMPETITION

 TORNADO WIRE FENCING COMPETITION

COMPETITORS CONFIRMED AND GUEST JUDGE ANNOUNCED

Tornado Wire are excited to announce that joining Kenny Campbell (MD) judging at this year’s fencing competition will be guest judge; Nick Liefting, travelling all the way from New Zealand.

Nick is a very experienced fencer, accomplished author and twice winner of the prestigious “Golden Pliers”, New Zealand’s Fencing Competition. Nick is a highly respected fencing judge in New Zealand and also on the judging team for the World Fencing Champs in Germany.

The first Tornado Wire fencing competition was held back in 1984 – the event has been held biennially ever since at the NSA National Sheep Event. It is a competition for professional fencing contractors who have to erect a 60-70 metre length of stock fence, with two end straining posts and a slight turn towards one end.

The two-man teams have just 3 hours to complete their fences, only hand-held tools are allowed in the competition so it’s a rare opportunity for the competitors to hone their traditional skills, pitting them against fellow professional fencing contractors.

The Tornado Wire Fencing Competition trophy will be on display, showing past winners all the way back to 1984. Who will be crowned 2022 Tornado Fencing Champion? Join us on the 27thJuly at the Three Counties Showground, Malvern to see the teams in action and find out whose name will be added to the trophy.
