The WPA Annual Event and Conference takes place at the Oulton Hall Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort, Leeds on 7th – 8th May.

Hearing what builders’ merchants think about treated wood For the first time we have guest speakers from the builders merchants supply chain at the WPA conference on 8th May at Oulton Hall, Leeds. The theme of conference is ‘Future proofing demand for preservative treated wood’ – we have asked our guests to not pull their punches in talking about the reality of a merchant buying and selling preservative treated wood.

In an afternoon session after the main Conference, delegates will also be able preview a new WPA training webinar for the supply chain about the benefits of selling correctly treated wood products: “Making wood even better than trees can!”

This will include an overview of:

• How trees make wood

• What makes wood a useful material (but not perfect)

• Why we need to select or enhance the properties of wood

• How can we make wood perfect (fit for purpose)
