HAMPTON’S STRAINERLOK AND VERSALOK METAL POST SYSTEMS PASS THE TEST

HAMPTON’S STRAINERLOK AND VERSALOK METAL POST SYSTEMS PASS THE TEST

Graham Harber, fencing contractor, tests the versatility of Hampton’s metal post systems on some tough terrain.

Tasked with the safe exclusion of roaming muntjac and rabbits from a large Estate in Norfolk, Graham opted for Hampton NET™ deer fencing teamed with hexagonal wire rabbit netting, erected and strained using Hampton’s Versalok® intermediate metal posts and Hampton’s Strainerlok™ metal box and angle strainer systems.

Graham needed a longer lasting, cost effective, easy to erect and versatile alternative to wooden posts. Versalok® and Strainerlok™ ticked all those boxes.

Manufactured in the UK by Hampton Steel, the award winning Strainerlok™ and Versalok® metal posts are readily available to order from Hampton’s and come with a thirty year guarantee; excellent longlife alternatives to timber posts.

Graham was able to employ his over 20 years fencing expertise to install an impressive, well strained

fence line. Hampton NET™ fixed knot fencing, with its rigid self-supporting characteristics, certainly helped with the difficulties of erecting and straining fencing on a steep incline. Versalok® provided Graham with the facility of attaching the fence at any point on the post; no aligning to fixed points was necessary. This versatility made the fencing of this tough terrain an easier and more effective proposition.

‘Installing and maintaining the level of the fence to ensure it did not rise off the ground on such a steep incline required some meticulous aligning of the Versalok® posts and the Strainerlok™ systems; angle strainers and adjoined box strainers provided for a perfect finish. Having the flexibility to insert the clips anywhere on the Versalok® posts made the job considerably easier.

I have used Hampton’s metal posts and fencing for a few years, always with great results; the quality of the fencing is of the highest standard and reliably consistent. I try to steer customers towards Hampton’s metal posts these days. Not only are they flexible to use but they are guaranteed for 30 years and their robust profile makes them easier to install.

The finished fence line is an impressive spectacle,’ said Graham.

For the management of alpacas, Graham also installed Hampton NET™ horse and foal fencing with Versalok® and Strainerlok™ angle strainers.

Featuring continuous lozenge shaped holes along the post, Versalok® is compatible with all woven wire mesh fence patterns. The Versalok® stainless steel clip taps easily into any of the holes on the post and, where required, two clips can be inserted into one hole providing increased versatility. Combined with Hampton’s awardwinning Strainerlok™ metal box and angle strainer systems, Versalok® provides for a fully integrated metal post system. Manufactured from high yield strength steel in 1.5mm and 2.5mm thick options, standard post lengths of 1.8m, 2.2m and 2.9m are available from stock, other post heights can be made to order (minimum production quantities apply).
