GETTING SOCIAL!

 GETTING SOCIAL!

Feel LINKEDIN with YOUR industry! Fencing News’ Instagram account (@fencing_news_magazine) is going from strength to strength thanks to your support.

We have a growing list of followers and are, in turn, following more and more businesses however in this issue we turn our attention to a different type of social media platform.

LinkedIn is very much focused on business to business activity and far more of a commercially focused site than other social media platforms. It’s a very helpful tool when it comes to sourcing intelligence about competitors, potential customers and individuals.

As one of the pre-eminent international fencing brands, you’d expect First Fence to have an effective presence… and they most certainly do with daily posts covering everything from staff milestones to product information to sponsorship.

LinkedIn gets your stories across to key audiences and is a ‘must do’ for businesses of all sizes. The AFI (Association of Fencing Industries) is another organisation with a proactive approach to LinkedIn. As a trade body, they post a number of weekly updates that are relevant to members and keep the ‘content coming’ with informative posts backed up by strong, relevant imagery.

It’s a two-way street of course. It’s not all about ‘me me me’ but an interactive process whereby you engage with industry names and updates by liking, sharing and commenting. It all helps the algorithms work in your favour, especially commenting!

Don’t forget to make the most of your home page banners. These are effectively adverts that can help to communicate your key messages.

You needn’t spend hours on LinkedIn. Just a few minutes each day or week will suffice and allow you to keep your company’s profile ticking over with interesting and slightly more formal posts than you’d be using on platforms such as Facebook.

Please get in touch with any examples of best practice (or indeed tales of woe!) when it comes to your social media activity.

It can work wonders if you embrace social media positively!
