MIDLANDS FENCING FIRM DIVERSIFIES WITH WRAG

WRAG is playing a key role in Worcestershire-based fencing contractor Ian Snape’s bid to diversify his business.

Ian, who started Ian Snape Agriculture around a decade ago and works predominantly within a ten-mile radius of Redditch, decided a few months ago to start hiring out fencing machinery including his range of WRAG and Protech postknockers.

“It can be sometimes be challenging being out in the field in all weathers,” explained Ian “so we’ve decided to diversify the business by hiring out machinery to other fencing contractors across the UK.

“There’s also a number of local farmers who are finding the service beneficial. Most of our contracts are between a week and two months in length and they are being used for a wide range of fencing options.

“The struggle to find new staff was another reason why we decided to shift part of the business into hiring out machinery. We will always be fencing contractors first and foremost but it’s good to have this sideline now taking off.

“The WRAG was the first postknocker I bought. It’s a brilliant machine that offers so much flexibility and functionality.

“I now have two WRAG machines that are being hired out on a regular basis. Both of their machines offer excellent balance and weight ratio which makes them very stable and reliable on uneven ground.

“They have a rigid chassis that not only improves their balance but ensures they stay very firm and steady whilst knocking.

“We have also noticed a general superior build and paint quality over other rivals and they boast superior hydraulic speed over rival postknocking machines,” added Ian.

A successful initial push on Facebook helped to grow the new venture and a new website is due to be launched very soon.

“There has been a very positive reaction and we’re getting enquiries all the time. It helps that we are fencing contractors, so our new customers know they can trust a product that we use ourselves.

“We’re not quite at the stage where we can put our feet up but, if you work with machinery you can trust such as that manufactured by WRAG, it makes sense to pass that on to fellow fencers and farmers,” concluded Ian.
