UK FENCING AWARDS ANNOUNCE SPONSORS
The AFI are pleased to announce that the sponsors for the 2022 UK Fencing Awards include several of the major players that supply the fencing industry across its various disciplines – Birkdale, CLD Fencing Systems, Heras, McVeigh Parker and Zaun have all given their support.
We are proud to share the awards with such forward-thinking companies who have all been involved in developing the fencing industry and progressing its standards in the modern environment. All of our sponsors have played their part in helping the industry in different sectors to resolve problems and develop the offering for contractors and end-users which is why they are so encouraging of the Project of the Year, Contractor of the Year and Lifetime Achievement.
CLD Fencing Systems is the largest manufacturer of rigid mesh fencing and security gates in the UK. They were the first company to export the rigid mesh to China. They have a long family tradition of supporting contractors with supply training and fulfilment of projects in a collaborative way. CLD Fencing Systems value the relationships they build with clients and customers for long-term results.

Birkdale has seen steady growth over their 40-year development across all their range of fencing and gate hardware helping the supply trade to deliver innovative components for the fencing contractor. Recently launching the DuraPost range they are now looking to expand from domestic to the industrial sector with a new Commercial DuraPost and gate system.
McVeigh Parker are one of the major suppliers in the fencing trade focusing on the agricultural sector. They launched the Clipex range into the UK market to offer an alternative to wood for the strained wire fencing industry. This was a bold decision in its time but now is seen as an accepted part of the agricultural landscape with an endorsement for use by DEFRA within its grant-aided schemes in recent months.

Zaun have always been at the forefront of new developments in the security and metal fencing markets servicing the local authority and security sectors, with the introduction of Armarweave, bar code style fencing and other bespoke solutions for the security sector. They have a can-do attitude from concept to delivery with complete in house service from design to completion from this British manufacturer.
Heras were the first to introduce the mobile construction site fencing concept but continues to be innovative being the first to introduce weldmesh fencing, noise barrier concept and have expanded to a pan European company. They are today focusing on more than temporary but complete perimeter protection at many levels and sectors with expanding range and solutions.

Richard Corrie was the inspiration for developing an organisation to set standards in the industry and develop training for all sectors so that the industry is not just seen as people that dig holes but as the highly regulated and skilled workforce that we represent in the construction community.
Entries are open until July 2022 with the awards presentation in October.
The AFI are excited about the support they have received from the sponsors for this new event.
Pete Clark CEO said “The venue is booked, we have a great set of sponsors and early entrants are encouraging. It’s time to celebrate the fantastic projects in fencing, whatever the size. We look forward to a broad range of entrants to make this an exceptional event showing the diverse spread of fencing, talent and skills we have from the best in the industry.”
