WATER WAY TO GO FOR LOCHRIN BAIN
Cumbernauld-based security fence manufacturer Lochrin Bain has recently manufactured and supplied several hundred metres of fencing, including various gates, at a water treatment works in the north of England.
Commercial Manager Stephen Russell explained: “Identified as one of 13 national Infrastructure sectors by the UK Government, the water industry has invested heavily in recent years upgrading perimeter security systems with the aid of LPCB (Loss Prevention Certification Board) and LPS1175 rated security fencing.
“The project involved LPS1175 Issue 8: B3 (SR2) Combi™ SL2 Palisade security fencing, chosen by the main contractors for its ease of installation, requiring no specialist tooling and the fact the system was designed to rake easily, solving issues raised with other security fencing solutions previously used.

“The area that needed to be secured featured various “problematic” sections with pipes running through the fence line or having to go up against uneven wall sections whilst always maintaining the specified security rating. The team at installers IP Jones worked with our technical department to ensure original concepts and ideas were transformed into full technical drawings for approval prior to manufacturing in-house. This resulted in a quick, simple and professional installation on site,” added Stephen.
Lochrin Combi™ SL2 Palisadesecurity fencing uses a unique, patented vee slot design withadditional security features whichhelped it gain LPS1175 Issue 8: B3 (SR2) accreditation. Unlike traditional Palisade fencing which can be easily compromised, the Combi™SL2 fence has been independently tested and also achieves ‘Secured By Design’ status, a Police initiative to raise standards for perimeter security solutions.
Stephen concluded: “Everyone involved with the project was delighted with the process from original enquiry through to design stage, construction and handover. The installation team on site commented on the ease of installation being a massive selling point, with the panels raking to sloping sections across the site at ease. Working closely with I.P Jones Operations Manager, the process was smooth with the client receiving a security rated fence on time and within budget.”
