DIVERSIFICATION WILL BE KEY AS IAE SETS OUT NEW GROWTH PLANS
In conjunction with the appointment of the new Head of Industrial Sales, Steve Salt, IAE sets out new sustainable growth plans that will further cement their position within the industry.
For over 30 years IAE has been manufacturing and supplying steel fencing to the UK Industrial Fencing Industry, as part of an ongoing diversification from the historical agricultural routes. Today, IAE employs over 400 people across their 38-acre site as is well renowned for their industrial division which turnover over approximately£17 million every year.
To help further establish and generate growth for IAE Industrial, a new Head of Industrial Sales has recently been appointed. Commencing his position at the end of October, Steve Salt joins IAE with a wealth of Sales experience and knowledge, having previously spent 25 years working within the Automotive industry.
Steve, aged 42, foresees sustainable growth over the next five years, ‘Diversification will be key. Our next chapter of growth will be driven by new product launches and the expansion of our existing accounts database’.
Having spent time as the Northern Sales Manager at Snapon Tools and as a Technical Sales Manager at Parts Alliance, Steve is no stranger to delivering strategy, initiating KPI’s and meeting sales targets.
‘Whilst the market remains competitive, especially with new products entering from overseas competitors, there is still an excellent opportunity for IAE to grow and consume more market share’ said Salt, ‘we will continue to deliver our core strengths through the existing product range, whilst harnessing the opportunity to work alongside customers to deliver on bespoke projects’.

In August 2022 IAE opened a new 148,000 sq ft production facility at their Head Quarters in Longton, with capabilities to produce more bespoke product than ever before. The £15 million development also included a Customer Experience Centre, allowing IAE to host new and existing customers for training, facility tours and much more.
Steve, who is currently taking time to understand every aspect of the business, knows that a vast amount of opportunity exists within the company, ‘One thing I have learnt already is that we have great infrastructure in place here at IAE, which will be of great support as we address the growing potentials of the market place’. A large initial focus for Steve is to understand and develop the existing processes in place at IAE, which he is already immersing himself into.
‘In time we will be expanding our manufactured product portfolio across the board. Product development is in our DNA, which combined with our quality products and reputation sits us in a fantastic position to generate sustainable company growth’.
