A ROLE FOR CREOSOTE WITH CALDERS AND GRANDIDGE

According to Calders and Grandidge, creosote still leads the way for performance timber fencing and safety critical applications.

Dermot Losty of Calders and Grandidge explained: “A question still asked amongst the farming community is ‘Can I still buy creosoted agricultural fencing?’ The answer is a positive yes! At Calders and Grandidge we see demand for creosoted agricultural and equestrian fencing increasing as our customers demand proven performance and best value for their timber fencing applications.

“The same quality control and testing regimes are used for all creosoted timber manufactured at Calders and Grandidge telegraph poles and fencing alike. The farming industry also want reliability and predictability so our extensive product range offers reassurance when livestock security is paramount.

“We treat according to British and international standards, including BS8417 and we maintain independent accreditation under the WPA Benchmark quality standard. I am responsible for monitoring the quality process here on site and I conduct recognised testing and sampling in our own site laboratory, in addition to regular inspections for manufacturing compliance. If a customer has a question relating to quality, I am always happy to help. The C&G team has a wealth of industry knowledge and experience and have set the bar high when it comes to delivering the highest standards of customer service,” added Dermot.

Charlotte Sinclair, Sales and Marketing Manager at Calders and Grandidge, added: “Customer expectations go beyond quality and value. Our customers also want good environmental credentials so we source all our materials from sustainable forests accredited under FSC or PEFC internationally recognised standards. We also know that life cycle assessment shows that creosoted timber delivers lower environmental impact than other materials, such as steel, plastic and concrete, so it remains the installer’s choice when it comes to durable exterior applications.”
