FACT GO ONLINE TO DELIVER TRAINING DURING AND AFTER LOCKDOWN

COVID-19 has changed the world we live in and has challenged us all. Fencing & Construction Training Ltd (FaCT) like many companies has had to change the way they do things.

FaCT, like all training providers ceased face-to-face delivery from Monday 23 March. But, determined to continue to be able to support businesses and individuals with their training needs FaCT developed alive online learning portal to deliver their courses. The portal uses Zoom to deliver live online learning sessions with an experienced trainer. Sessions are all assessed with an online end of course assessment and for FaCT courses the certificates are emailed out the same day.

Courses currently available are: Location of Underground Services; Abrasive Wheels; Manual Handling; COSHH, Working at Height Asbestos Awareness, Power Tools; Common induction course plus the Health Safety Awareness course for FISS/CSCS cards and the SSSTS, SMSTS and refresher courses. VRS Foundation and Installer training will start to be delivered online in the next three weeks. FaCT also provide COVID-19 – back to work training and other related training.

FaCT’s MD Tim Drew said “It has been a difficult time for everyone, and we have all had to adapt the way we work. We developed our live online delivery so that we could still offer training to our clients while maintaining everyone’s safety. We are constantly reviewing what we can offer and added the COSHH course after a request from a client; and we are happy to look at any course to see if we can develop online delivery. The feedback we have from people who have attended online has been brilliant and even when we return to face-to- face training delivery, we will continue to offer the courses online as an alternative option. Live online learning, saves the business time and money as well as being very flexible, wherever you are based, the course is available – in the next room on your PC or laptop.”

FaCT has also added a number of qualifications for fencing online, so that the recording of evidence and answering knowledge questions can be done without meeting an assessor. Tim Drew said “We developed this so that people already registered on the qualifications could still continue and also we can sign up new recruits and get them started on the route to achieving the qualification without having to visit them on site straight away – again feedback has been really positive. It was vital that we continued this work as people upgrading their cards can now only do this through the qualification route.”

If you are interested in upgrading your FISS CSCS card to the blue skilled worker card FaCT has limited funding until the end of July to support this if you are based in England and over 24 (subject to eligibility). The funding includes a week of training which can all be done online. Most of the qualification can be completed online, with a couple of assessor visits to your workplace once restrictions are lifted and you are back at work.

FaCT also offer the Level 3 diploma to upgrade to the gold supervisors FISS CSCS card and the Level 5 to upgrade to the black managers FISS CSCS card online.

If you are interested in updating any of your training online or upgrading your card, please call FaCT on 0121 476 4731 or visit www.fctrain.co.uk
