BRITISH OPEN FENCING CHAMPIONSHIPS AND SPEED FENCING COMPETITION SET TO IGNITE APF SHOW 2026
NORTON’S FENCING MAKE THEIR GLOBAL MARK ON EQUESTRIAN
With equestrian fencing projects straddling three continents and numerous nations, it’s fair to say that Suffolk-based Norton’s Fencing is making an impact on the international stage!
From soldiering on through a hurricane in the USA to a complex equestrian project in the wonderful Slovenian foothills of the Alps, Jack Norton and his team have more passport stamps than most.
The business, which currently employs ten, started over 40 years ago by Jack’s father. Jack took over the reins in 2014 of the business that is conveniently located close to the famous Newmarket racecourse.
Norton’s also has a presence in Ireland with a HQ at Clonshaugh Business & Technology Park near Dublin.
“I’ve done fencing since I could walk because my father has always fenced,” explained Jack who left school and went to college to study construction.
“With time, I continued to work with my father. After my studies, it was certain that fencing was what I’d love to do.
We have worked in the USA, Hong Kong, Sweden, Slovenia, Ireland, Guernsey, France, Canada and Belgium and have a few more countries in the pipeline. I’m proud to have helped us establish a reputation beyond these shores.
Working in the USA had huge impact on Norton’s Fencing Ltd as a company and on me personally.
The logistical challenges we faced there as well as working through a hurricane definitely stand out!
Most people who reach out to us have spotted our fencing somewhere else or have heard about our work. We are truly lucky to be working with such exclusive products where the quality and craftsmanship speak for themselves.
With the ever changing and increasingly visual landscape of social media, we are seeing an increase in enquiries through web channels,” added Jack.
From the design and installation of stud farm fencing to lunging rings, wooden safety shelters and gates to paddock fencing and loading ramps, there’s not much Nortons doesn’t do when it comes to equestrian fencing.
He went on: “We pride ourselves on offering the highest standard of fencing and we insist on using only the finest timber, all from sustainable sources. Our suppliers are carefully selected based on the quality and reliability of their products. The combination of the best available materials and our attention to detail provides outstanding results.
We are also the exclusive partner and installers for De Sutter Naturally in Ireland and the United Kingdom.
We get to visit some truly beautiful places and being around the horses is very satisfying. There’s a real sense of achievement when you arrive to a site that is a blank canvas and know that we’ve been entrusted to add our artistic touch in order to change the landscape.
We deliver high quality fencing that is not only functional but also supports the wellbeing of the animals. Those are our prime objectives,” added Jack who loves to spend time with his family when he’s not on his globetrotting adventures.
“I have an incredibly supportive partner in Tamara and two daughters with one more on the way so any time I have away from work is spent with them.
I work with a fantastic team of professionals here who all know equestrian fencing inside out and we are all focused on delivering the best possible outcomes for our clients, wherever they may be in the world,” concluded Jack.
It’s just eleven years since Jack took charge of the business but, in that time, he really has galloped ahead of the competition. Those passport stamps will only grow in number!
