SCOTSHEEP FENCING COMPETITION GOES FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH
The recent Scotsheep fencing competition proved to be a great success!
Organiser Lewis Knox explained:
“This is the second time this event has been run at Scotsheep, and it built on the success of the competition that was held two years ago. This year, we were oversubscribed with entrants, so we called on Jock Bryce from our main sponsor Bryce Suma Post Drivers to draw out eight teams from the hat for the lanes that were available.
“We had competing teams coming to Dunbar in early June for the event from across Scotland, England, and Wales. We had a dry but windy day, which kept competitors cool during the three-hour-long competition. Each team had a 70-meter stretch of stock fence to erect by hand, watched over by our team of three judges. A big thank you to Jim Drummond, Robert Bell, and Shaun Walsh!
“Once again, the event drew a big crowd with other fencers and farmers looking to pick up a tip or two. We would also like to thank Tornado Wire, who donated the wire for the competition and kindly sponsored the event. Finally, a big thank you to all of the competing teams who contributed to an event that will only go from strength to strength,” added Lewis.
First place went to M&S Fencing (181.33 points), with Samson Fencing (166.17 points) and HVB Fencing and John Morgan (162.17 points) finishing second and third, respectively.
