SCOTTISH-BUILT POST DRIVERS IN GLOBAL DEMAND

SCOTTISH-BUILT POST DRIVERS IN GLOBAL DEMAND

JOCK BRYCE’S SONS, ANDREW AND STUART, ARE CLEAR AS TO THE REASONS FOR THEIR ONGOING SUCCESS IN FOREIGN MARKETS

Andrew said: “Customers from overseas are constantly returning and reordering our machines. They always cite our superior build quality, exclusive design, performance and hitting power as the principle reasons for their loyalty.

“One comment that is always made is that there is ‘nothing quite like it over here’ so we are obviously getting it right for our customers wherever they may be in the world,” added Andrew.

Stuart, talking specifically about the new 180 Pro track machine, added: “The Bryce 180 Pro is proving to be a very popular machine with positive feedback from the UK and overseas as a direct result of its unrivalled features, reliability, build quality and performance.

“We have a mixture of new and existing customers ordering machines and are now finding that we are getting more and more repeat orders for additional machines as our customers grow their businesses,” concluded Stuart.

NORTH AMERICA

“Top notch with good feedback.”

Kencove, based in Pennsylvania, is one of North America’s biggest national fencing distributors offering a range of post drivers of different brands. They wanted to expand on that by offering a premium product and, after careful consideration, they chose Bryce Suma.

Digger McDivitt, the post driver expert at Kencove, stated “We like the Bryce features and we like the superior quality. The interest and sales of the Bryce have been top- notch with good feedback.”

Indeed Kencove have just placed an order for another 40ft container load!

AUSTRALIA

“Our customers think very highly of their Bryce Post Drivers.”

Jon Earl , Bryce distributor in Australia, came to see Jock Bryce eight years ago and they have done regular business ever since. Now, with all those years of use and a new container-load about to be shipped, Jon gave his views on the Bryce product: “We sell a NZ brand for the lower end of the market and the Bryce for the top end and now we arereally seeing the value and benefit of the build quality of the Bryce.

“Before engaging with Bryce we searched the world, found the  Bryce machines then paid a visit to Scotland to see them in action. These drivers are a cut above anything on the market. The drought conditions here in Australia are so bad it seems like we are being given a taste of what hell is like – if this isn’t hell I am sure we can see it from here!

“You would think with the crisis we are in that there would be no fencing being undertaken, however there is currently a lot of fencing being erected through a Governmentenvironmental scheme to control the enormous problem of wild dogs/ dingoes* causing widespread slaughter amongst livestock.

“Due to the severity caused by year-on-year drought conditions, the ground in most parts is so hard that the big rockspike and big hammers have proved to be the best way to get the posts in with efficiency and speed. All our customers think very highly of their Bryce post drivers due to their incredible performance, features and robust build quality.

“Their reliability and low wear rates with no failures or breakages is incredibly impressive. Customers also cite the extra height offered by the auto tele mast and then the great low clearance of the machine when all folded up for transport. We would recommend the Bryce as your first choice every time.”

NEW ZEALAND – CANTERBURY

“The Bryce 180 Pro is worlds apart with regards to speed of use and safety”

Todd Hewitt , in charge of post driver sales for Bryce Distributors in New Zealand, flagged up a couple of interesting sales on the South Island.

Todd says “Through advertising we received an enquiry from Kerry Sixtus, CEO of Pattullos Nurseries in Hawkes Bay, who owns one of the largest, specialist fruit tree nurseries in New Zealand. He also farms in the Akaroa Peninsula near Canterbury and enquired about the 180 Pro.”

Kerry commented: “We had a bit of a chat, sent videos and info and 2 months later received the order. With a high annual rainfall and in places quite steep terrain with soils that are rock hard in summer and dangerously slippy in winter, the Bryce 180 Pro was the logical choice.

“This has replaced a tractor- mounted machine where at times an auger was used also but this outfit had struggled on the steeper parts of the property where, for a lot of the year, you simply don’t take a tractor outfit.

“We find the big rockspike and hitting power now means we don’t need to auger holes. Stability, traction, ease of use and, very importantly safety, were the reasons that we purchased the 180 Pro
and we are very pleased with its performance to date. The Bryce 180 Pro is worlds apart as regards build quality and from a health and safety perspective too. There simply isn’t a comparison to any other machine out there.”

NEW ZEALAND – INVERCARGILL

“The hitting power of the Bryce is unseen over here!”

Todd Hewitt takes up the story regarding another customer. “Matt McKelvie enquired about Bryce through an advert in the Southland Ag Trader. He had done his homework and research on all the Kiwi post drivers and asked the best price for a Bryce Forest Supreme.

“If the machine performed on delivery, he would take it so I took the machine from Morrinsville and set off on the long drive down to Invercargill where I demonstrated it. He was very impressed and turned to me saying “Where’s the bill?””

Matt says “Most of the ground we work on has 8 inches of topsoil then we are onto a blue rock pan. Previously we augered with diggers and/or vibrated posts. I wanted to make things easier and looked at a wide range of post drivers on the NZ market but this advert for Bryce caught my eye.

“All I can say is we love it. The 4-way shift is superb and the hitting power is unseen over here. The posts go in beautifully. We use a lot of concrete posts for our fences and the rockspike allows us to drive these posts into this blue rock pan so easily and much quicker than an auger setup. A lot of people have now seen this machine and everybody is very impressed with the way it operates and the build quality.

“It makes our job a walk in the park!” concluded Matt.

A recent visit to Bryce HQ by Darrell Russell, distributor for Bryce, was very productive with confirmation that another order to fill a 40ft container will be forthcoming at the turn of the year.
