 SUFFOLK GATES EXPAND OPERATIONS

2025 marks another step forward for George and his team at Suffolk Gates, who are currently moving the company’s operations from Lavenham Airfield to a new 8,000 sqft workshop and yard near Lavenham.

The new building will consolidate all timber gate makers under one roof, along with timber machining facilities, enabling much greater efficiency than the current multi-building site.

Managing Director George Corrie commented that the new building and yard, located between Acton and Lavenham in Suffolk, will allow the company to focus its efforts on the production of Iroko hardwood driveway gates. George stated, “This will help us increase our output to reduce lead times and offer a very competitive market rate on our new Trade Gate Range, which we are currently launching.”

In addition to moving to larger premises, Suffolk Gates has also established a small automation and installation service in and around Suffolk. George noted, “This has been an absolutely invaluable exercise for us, as it has helped us better understand what many of our trade customers require from their gates, especially as more gates are being automated for end users.”

George further stated, “We hope to have our gate makers moved in by the end of October, followed by the relocation of the remaining milling equipment and operators during the February off-season, with our intention to be fully relocated by the end of March next year.

Moving gradually between now and March allows us to keep the business running without too much interruption and stress.”

After the company has completed its move, keep an eye out for Suffolk Gates, as they plan to hold an open day event during the summer to showcase all that they have to offer.
