TALK OF THE TOON FOR THE AFI AWARDS

TALK OF THE TOON FOR THE AFI AWARDS

The UK Fencing Industry Awards ceremony returns in grand style at St James’ Park in Newcastle on October 17th, 2024.

This illustrious occasion celebrates excellence and innovation across all facets of fencing, honouring the trailblazers and visionaries shaping the future of our industry.

Pete Clark CEO of the AFI commented “The Awards have come a long way since their inception in 2022, with greater sector recognition, increased entries and awareness of the value in professional fencing. Many of the finalists and winners are reaping the benefits with tangible business from the recognition of the fencing excellence of their projects.”

With the new Apprentice of the Year Award Pete said “It is a primary objective of the AFI to continue to direct the right content of all training in fencing and the best way to show that it is valued is to promote the next generation of fencers that have taken the courses.

“This is why I believe the inclusion of the Apprentice of the Year is a needed progression to recognise the achievements of the young fencers that are the future of the industry. We as an industry, and the greater construction sector, are working hard to reduce the shortfall in staffing levels. I see the Awards as a way of promoting success in the new generation of fencers.”

The Awards are open to all in fencing if you think that you reach the standard that the industry expects. The only way to win is to enter.
