 The Fencer’s Toolkit – I Couldn’t Do Without…

In this new regular Fencing News feature we will turn the spotlight on the tools of the trade…the stuff that makes the fencing contractor’s job just that little bit easier!

First off, we’re talking with Mark Blair, a contractor based in the far north of Scotland with the rugged mountainous scenery of Sutherland presenting challenge after challenge for Mark.

“I couldn’t do without my Strainrite wire tension pullers,” explained Mark. “It’s a fantastic tool that I use on a daily basis and is both heavy duty and very reliable.

“Strainrite is, in my opinion, the best brand out there. Originally designed in New Zealand in the 1970’s by farmers who understand how a fence works, the build quality in my opinion is second to none and is recognised globally within wire fencing worldwide!

“Any fencing tools coming out of New Zealand are worth checking out. It certainly is a place where tools get tested to the max by the best in the business and many innovations used there soon end up on our shores.

“To illustrate my loyalty for Strainrite, my chisels, wire strainers, wire pull clamps, staplers and crimp plyers are all made by them!”

“You learn very quickly in this game what works and what doesn’t and Strainrite has always hit the mark,” he added.

You can read Mark’s ‘Tales from the Far North’ column elsewhere in this issue.

If you have a favourite tool or machine that you couldn’t do without, please get in touch with us and we can feature this in a future issue.
