WHICH DECKWRIGHT PRODUCT IS RIGHT FOR ME?

WHICH DECKWRIGHT PRODUCT IS RIGHT FOR ME?

The popularity of timber decking has grown in recent years, and is commonly used in private residential gardens, as well as commercial ventures such as holiday parks, play areas and outdoor recreational facilities.

While hard-wearing and practical, timber decking is known to be hazardous in wet and slippery conditions, which is why WJ Group developed a unique safety solution called DeckWright.

DeckWright is an innovative and robust anti-slip insert which adds grip to slippery timber decking. Created from a specially formulated combination of resin and aggregate,DeckWright inserts fix into the grooves of timber decking with a specially formulated adhesive and provides a reassuring grip to enhance safety and reduce the risk of accident or injury.

DeckWright anti-slip inserts have been independently tested and approved to industry health and safety standards. WJ’s manufacturing process has also been independently QA audited and has been awarded with ISO 9001:2016 certification.

All DeckWright anti-slip products have been awarded the ‘DeckMark Plus’ quality assurance and performance scheme, operated by the Timber Decking and Cladding Association.

Such is WJ’s confidence in the quality and durability of their product, all DeckWright anti-slip products come with a five-year warranty.

So, whether it’s domestic garden decking or a large area of timber decking at a place of work or commercial premises, DeckWright has a range of solutions and services to meet every need. But which product is right for you?

DeckWright Anti-Slip Insert Kits

“I want something that looks good, is quick and easy to install myself at home, and will make the decking in my garden safe for my family and friends to enjoy all year round.”

DeckWright anti-slip insert kits are ideal for domestic customers who already have a small or medium sized area of decking installed, in particular those who have decking that is used by young children or the elderly who may be more prone to slips and trips.

Each kit contains installation instructions, 25 metres of pre- moulded anti-slip strips and a specially formulated tube of adhesive. The insert kits are easy to use, and no specialist equipment is required – all that’s needed is a standard caulking gun for the application of the adhesive, and a pair of pliers or a craft knife.

For larger projects, DeckWright anti-slip insert kits can be provided in bulk boxes of 250 metres of anti- slip strips.

The inserts come in a variety of colours including buff, grey, black, red, yellow and green, giving customers the option to choose a look that suits their garden, whether they prefer subtle and discrete, or vibrant and eye-catching.

We also have free issue merchandise stands available for delivery to merchants who would like to become a stockist.

DeckWright Anti-Slip Service

“I’m a mill/importer with my own standard deck boards, but I need someone I can take them to that will transform them into fully tested and safe non-slip timber that will withstand heavy commercial use.”

The DeckWright anti-slip service is suitable for businesses who want to supply their own timber and collect it on completion of treatment.

Applied using a controlled process at the company’s two treatment facilities in Hull and Rochester, DeckWright is uniquely created from a formulated combination of resin and aggregate.

WJ’s anti-slip service fits a range of specifications and groove sizes to encompass all decking variations. Once the boards have been anti-slipped, the timber can also be impregnated with additional preservatives to either UC3 and UC4 15 or 30 year, or fire-retardant treatments to Euroclass B.

The anti-slip service has been independently tested and approved to industry health and safety standards and has a PTV (Pendulum Test Value) score of 71 – resulting
in the Health & Safety Executive awarding a ‘low slip potential’ status, notably higher than many competitors’ products in the market.

DeckWright Anti-Slip Deckboards

“I am a timber/builders merchant and I’m looking for someone who can supply me with a professional, long-lasting anti-slip decking product, sourcing and supplying the timber to my exact specifications, treating it, and delivering it directly to my door.”

With the DeckWright anti-slip deckboard, in addition to all the benefits of the anti-slip service, WJ supply and treat the timber, and deliver the finished product to the customer’s premises.

This provides customers with a fully tested and safe non-slip timber decking while avoiding expensive haulage costs and minimum order quantities.

WJ will supply deck boards to the exact size, species of timber and groove formation, before applying its fully certified anti-slip formulation.

Customers also have the option of having the boards treated and preserved to UC3 and UC4 in accordance with the British Standard BS 8417.

Founded in 2007, WJ Group provides innovative products and services to its customers in the timber and leisure homebuilding markets in the UK and overseas.
