COMBI SYSTEM FITS THE BILL FOR FARMFOODS
A new Farmfoods distribution depot at Cumbernauld near Glasgow has been made safe and secure thanks to a patented palisade fence system supplied by perimeter fencing specialists Lochrin Bain.
Alter Landscapes, based at Lochwinnoch in Renfrewshire, installed Lochrin Bain’s Combi system which involves vertical pales passing through horizontal rails that are then held in place with a bolt counter sunk into the front face of the rail.
Alan Miller Jnr, who project managed the installation for Alter Landscapes, commented: “The product was very easy to work with. In fact I would say the pales slotting through the rails were easier for our teams to install than traditional front fix palisade.
Alter Landscapes has worked with Lochrin Bain on a number of projects over the years ranging from commercial projects such as the Farmfoods depot to large scale substation upgrades using their high security palisade Combi system.
Lochrin Bain Commercial Manager Stephen Russell commented: “This project perfectly demonstrates the capabilities of the Combi Palisade system and the simplicity of its installation, reducing labour times whilst offering a superior product for the client.”
“The Combi system was developed to offer the next level of defence in palisade fencing and offers great value for money with a range of benefits including a 25 year life guarantee.
“There is no pendulum access, the number one issue with standard palisade including heavy duty 3mm & 4mm pales. Recent tests show this type of penetration can be achieved in under 12 seconds with a basic blunt object.
“It’s available to LPS1175 A1 (SR1) and B3 (SR2) certification to Issue: 8 which is also ‘Secured By Design’, the police preferred alternative to front fix palisade.
“Manufactured in the UK from British milled steel, it exceeds BS1722 Part 12 and can be integrated with various security solutions including CCTV, PIDS, electric fencing etc.
“The system is designed to rake to contour of ground up to 450mm+ per panel. Additional raking is available with special rails.
“No specialist training or tools are required for installation and it’s supplied in loose kit form for ease of transportation, storage and installation.
“Lochrin Bain can also supply full technical support with CAD drawings available,” added Stephen.
