GATEMASTER ANNOUNCES THEIR NEW STAINLESS STEEL SUPERLOCK LOCK RANGE

UK gate hardware manufacturer Gatemaster Locks has just announced that their popular lock range, the Superlock, has been upgraded to stainless-steel, meaning the locks now consist of all non-corrosive materials.
Upgrading the armour Gatemaster was already using stainless steel for parts in the Superlock range such as for the latch, front plate and fixing bolts as these components experience the most wear. So, why change the rest of the components to stainless steel?
Gatemaster Locks has always focused on ensuring their locks and gate hardware are reliable, high quality and easy to fit, and the Superlock range is no exception. Being a popular choice due to its narrow case, the Superlock’s reach expanded to new territories, and it is the perfect time to give the lock a stainless upgrade. “We’ve made galvanised locks for the UK market and its adverse climate for decades without any corrosion problems.
However, feedback from our European customer is that they prefer gate product in stainless steel”, Managing Director Simon Napthine explains. The range includes lock options such as a simple deadlock, latch deadlock and combination locks.
To minimise friction, the bearing on the bolt support plate is still made out of brass and the push pad for the quick exit locks remains the signature bright green mild steel.
The locks are still to be supplied powder coated in black as standard and with a range of handles made of stainless steel, aluminium, or metal alloys.
Continuing the stainless journey Updating an entire lock range to stainless steel might seem like enough work, but Gatemaster is not stopping there. The company is determined to continue their stainless-steel journey and is now updating the keeps for the Superlock range to stainless steel as well.
Both locks and keeps will be painted and it might be difficult to tell the difference from just looking at them, however just knowing that the inner workings are stainless gives an added level of confidence.
The change to stainless is an update driven by customer feedback and Gatemaster’s commitment to deliver product updates that the market needs without compromising on quality or ease of installation, which the company is known for.
