Tarmac Cement is welcoming members of construction charity, Band of Builders, as special guests on the latest episode of its popular One of the Family podcast.
Band of Builders’ Trustee Gavin Crane and Project Lead Tim Winch will be joined by Tarmac Cement’s Aisling Molloy to discuss the charity and its latest renovation initiative, Robert’s Project.
The project, sponsored by Tarmac Cement, will see a team of volunteers come together to make adaptations to the home of the father of- four, Rob Lamb, who was left paralysed last year after suffering a fall.
More than 60 tradespeople from across the country have been working to ensure that the house is safe and comfortable for Rob’sreturn from a rehabilitation centre, with adaptations including the addition of a downstairs bedroom and wet room complete with specialist equipment.
Founded in 2016, Band of Builders was formed to offer fellow construction workers hands-on help during challenging times and has since grown to a nationwide community offering emotional, mental and physical support. On the episode, Gavin and Tim also explore how the charity has helped construction workers across the country over the years.
The One of the Family series, aimed at supporting tradespeople and construction workers, was launched by Tarmac Cement in November last year. Episodes to date have included best practice, upcoming trends and women in construction, with a range of experts and representatives across the industry appearing throughout the series.
