BOND SPIES FURTHER GROWTH OF AGENT NETWORK

Bond Timber are looking to expand their network of stockists for their 30-year gold treated timber following the success of sales generated from their current South West stockists over the last 12 months.

The family-owned business, part of WH Bond & Sons Ltd, has been treating timber for a 30-year service life since 2010 and are currently the only timber treatment firm in the UK to offer tanalised fencing stakes approved by the Wood Protection Association for a 30-year service life.

In 2019 the company won the award for treated wood quality excellence at the Wood Protection Association awards and holds ISO9001:2015 accreditation, FSC® & PEFC Certification. They are also Benchmark approved. In addition to their 30-year service life fencing, Bond also treats timber to the National Highways Sector Scheme 4 specification which they are accredited to sell.

All timber is treated in South East Cornwall where the company operates two large Tanalith E high pressure vessels and a low-pressure genuine Vac Vac vessel. They also operate an Excalibur Pro incisor and a range of sawmilling facilities to resaw, plane and mortice or finish timber as required. All timber treatment is supplied by Lonza Wood Protection.

Existing stockists of Bond Timber’s 30-year gold treated timber include Walter Bailey in Cornwall, Harpers Farm Supplies in North Devon, Heard & Sendell in Tiverton and James Hill Fencing in Dorset.

Manager Shaun Getson commented: “The convenience of stockists holding a selection of the core range and the flexibility to special order additional sizes required has led to a huge growth in sales.

“We have invested in a range of marketing materials that stockist can use to promote the 30-year gold treated timber and help drive sales including a handy guide to sizes. A new website is also soon to be launched where customers can seek local stockists information.

“I am delighted with the relationships we have built with our stockists. We have seen a huge surge in demand for our 30-year gold treated timber and I think it helps greatly that customers can see the product and order job lot quantities as required,” added Shaun.

Bond Timber hold large quantities of fencing material ready for delivery across the UK and are looking for stockists further north of Dorset.

Shaun added: “Many of our stockists already offer an alternative UC4 treated product from stock and have chosen to stock our product alongside as an alternative which we are happy to support.”
