Decking company Composite Prime has been awarded membership of the TimberTrade Federation (TTF), becoming the first member of the industry body to supply composite materials.

The company has secured distribution partnership agreements for its HD Deck ® DUAL and HD Deck ® XS ranges with, among others, Arnold Laver, Taylor Maxwell and Timbmet along with GAP, a leading supplier to builders and installers in the UK PVC-U market.

Composite Prime’s decking ranges utilise the latest composite technology to produce a long life, low maintenance, safe, slip-resistant and child-friendly material.

Central to the company’s mission is its primary focus on tackling consumers’ environmental concerns through innovative use of a combination of Forest

Stewardship Council FSC® 100%certified hardwood timber from wellmanaged, sustainable sources and recycled plastic waste in its decking products.

These environmental credentials are helping boost the global campaign to combat plastic waste. During the last 12 months, Composite Prime estimates it has stopped 25 million plastic milkbottles going into landfill – or theworld’s oceans – and recycled the equivalent of 300 million plastic bottle caps.

Behind Composite Prime are two men with a history in the plastic and timber sectors. Managing

Director Domenic Harrison is thefifth generation of his family to workin plastics whilst Sales Director Charles Taylor is a third generation timber merchant.

Earlier this year, Rudy Micallef, one of the most experienced marketing directors in the consumer leisure sector, came on board as Commercial Director, with Susanna Wolfe further strengthening the team on her recent appointment as Marketing Manager. She has previously held similar roles at IWCSchaffhausen, Westfield London,Harvey Nichols and Harrods.

David Hopkins, Managing Director of the TTF, said, “We’re pleased to welcome Composite Prime onboard. They have already made great in-roads to the market via a number of our members and look set to continue that growth. Iwish them every success.”

Charles Taylor added: “Tobecome the first composites-  only member of the TTF, the UK’s foremost membership body in its sector, is a landmark achievement for Composite Prime.

“With a heritage stretching back over 125 years, the TTF acts as the guardian of product standards, quality and sustainability – a philosophy we wholeheartedly share across our entire operation.”
