DELIVERING AND DIVERSIFYING WITH FIRST FENCE

DELIVERING AND DIVERSIFYING WITH FIRST FENCE

Railings, mesh fencing and palisade specialists First Fence have made a significant foray into the timber garden sector.

The company is also set to take delivery of an additional twenty two vehicles for its fleet as part of its commitment to customers. This includes fifteen Sprinter flatbeds, five 7.5t Iveco’s, four 32t lorries with Moffett’s and three additional DAF tractor units.

“As a service driven business, investing heavily into transport achieves three things: a professional impression, consistent reliability and more same day availability,” said Dave Kotecha, Director at First Fence.

Based at Swadlincote in Derbyshire, First Fence has also equipped all five additional depots with landscape offerings which include sleepers, sleeper installation accessories and preservation products. The offering includes a range of summer houses and roof options to cater for every garden need.

“As customer preferences and market trends continue to evolve, businesses must adapt to stay ahead of the curve,” said Toby Roberts-Davies, First Fence Product Innovation Manager.

“When you hear continuous stories around high inflation, cost of living crises and cautious spending, it’s no coincidence that The British Retail Consortium (BRS) has recorded a 4.9% growth in outdoor garden products and furniture sales in June 2023 alone. There’s still money ready to be spent and it’s now a question of leisure breaks versus home renovations.”

First Fence has demonstrated an astute understanding of customer needs by branching out into the landscape supply industry. By offering sleepers, accessories and summer houses, they have tapped into the growing demand for comprehensive outdoor solutions.

“With our unpredictable climate, it was essential from the offset that any new garden products are in stock and ready for same day dispatch if needed. Having only joined First Fence in 2023, it’s clear that a lot of our success is down to quick deliveries, stock availability and our quick reactions to consumer trends” added Toby.

First Fence are introducing three new summer house ranges with a literary theme. ‘The Hemingway’, ‘The Dickens’ and ‘The Rowling’ will be promoted as an easy-to-install way of multi-using space including home businesses, chill-out dens, storage spaces, garden gyms or even just a place to escape the stress of the day.

Toby went on: “Our summer houses are available in three sizes for each of the ranges. An investment of this size, covering nine separate houses and with unrivalled quick delivery times has not been seen before in the summer house segment. Imagine deciding you want a summer house on a next day delivery. Who can currently offer that?”.

In addition to the new range of summer houses, they also have committed to stock holding a vast quantity of timber sleepers and accessories to suit.

First Fence will also offer RSJ retaining posts, metal paint, timber staples and even a range of preservatives. Customers can now rely on First Fence to provide them with top-notch landscape products that effortlessly blend functionality and aesthetics, enabling them to create stunning garden features, raised beds, retaining walls or even just chill-out spaces.

Toby concluded: “It’s clear, we’re very well established in the fence game with six locations, over forty vehicles and business that exceeds one hundred deliveries a day. We’re here to stay and build our name in the timber landscape supply sector through stock availability and market leading quick deliveries.”

First Fence’s expansion into the landscape supply industry marks a significant milestone for the company and the customers they serve. They have also committed to helping buyers with a range of simple ‘how to’ videos, which show everything from installation, tools for the job and even some basic frequently asked questions.
