EASING THE WORKLOAD WITH HOLDEN FENCING IMPORTS

t’s four years since Fencing News caught up with James Holden of Bury-based Holden Fencing Imports, and he’s continuing to supply contractors across the UK with the very latest tools and fixings from around the world.
A lot has happened since December 2021, with the business moving into much larger premises with a retail presence, office facilities, and substantially more storage within the 800 square foot unit.
“It’s transformed what we can do and we will be celebrating a year in the new premises in April,” said James, *“with the extra stock space allowing us to cast the net even further when it comes to products that will help to transform the working life of a contractor.
“Our shop also draws in quite a lot of passing trade with all of our range of stock available to order online at holdenfencings.co.uk.
“I also carry out contracting myself from time to time around this part of Lancashire and help to run a 200-acre farm with 500 sheep near Ramsbottom.
“We have plans to take on staff soon to allow me more time away from the shop to meet customers and suppliers alike.
“We’ve diversified in recent years into reliable workwear clothing; however, fencing is at the very centre of our thinking. I want Holden Fencing to go back to its roots in 2025. It’s an industry I love and it’s played a big part in my life.”*
Holden Fencing stocks a wide range of brands from around the world including Fencepro, Kinghitter, Stoney Creek, Ariat, Hultafors, Gallagher, Solidur, Fenceline Solutions, and Walters Fencing as well as their own range of tools.
James, who launched the business in November 2020, continued:
*“All of these brands are tried and tested and proven out in the field, and it’s a constant process for me in researching the latest tools and technologies.
“As a contractor myself, I’m able to trial everything that we stock, so it invariably gets my own personal seal of approval.
“My biggest sellers remain the fence repair tools and hand tools, with the vast majority of our customers being UK-based. Based on my distribution agreements with a number of brands, I’m also hoping to get more customers across Europe, and that will be another focus over the course of this year.
“These are challenging times for everyone with a lot of uncertainty out there, but if I can play my part in simplifying the daily workload for fencing contractors, then I’ll be a happy man!”* concluded James.
