ELIZA TINSLEY SCOOP TWO TROPHIES AT THE DIY WEEK AWARDS

With nearly two hundred years of trading history under their belt, you’d think maybe Eliza Tinsley would be used to an accolade or two.

As it turns out, it’s always still a great surprise and an honour when another award comes their way.

This year, they scooped up two awards at the annual DIY Week awards for two amazing new products they have brought to their range under their Greenman Garden Tools banner.

Many of their customers know Eliza Tinsley from their pedigree as the most highly regarded suppliers of fencing and hardware products. Over the decades they have expanded their range to include all manner of fixings and fastenings, rope and chain, gate hardware and now, gardening tools.

Managing Director for Eliza Tinsley, Dr Sachin Saigal, has been at the helm of Eliza Tinsley for the last 12 years and oversaw the latest venture into gardening tools that has, in the last three years, quite simply gone stratospheric.

“When we took over the reigns at Eliza Tinsley, we knew we were acquiring a business with enormous history. We have a fantastic base of loyal customers who have entrusted Eliza Tinsley for decades and that really attracted us to the business initially. But we also saw tremendous opportunities for growth so we immediately set about enhancing the product range to cater for extra needs.”

The foray into the gardening sector came about as the Eliza Tinsley board were looking at acquiring like minded businesses that fitted with their quality products and high levels of customer service ethics. And so, in 2019, Eliza Tinsley bought Greenman Garden Tools, a family-run business with a long history of developing quality artisanal garden tools.

“I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved with Greenman,” commented Dr Sachin. “The business was very localised in Devon, but in a very short space of time and with the backing of the Eliza Tinsley staff, we’ve taken the brand national.”

Since the takeover, Eliza Tinsley has been offering Greenman Garden Tools to their customers across the country and the appetite for quality tools and exceptional marketing support has been there for everyone to see. Greenman can now be found in the largest garden centre chain in the UK as well as a lot of independent garden centres and shops.

And now they’re also award winners! Eliza Tinsley entered the DIY Week awards for the first time, with two of their newest products from the Greenman range. Coming away with two awards for hand tool of the year and garden tool of the year against some very stiff opposition, was a huge compliment to the Eliza Tinsley team and the quality of their products.

“I’m delighted that our tools are being recognised by industry experts and it goes to endorse how highly we value this brand,” said Dr Sachin. “Our customers can now tap into that kudos as well and selling an award-winning brand, just makes selling so much easier!”
