The recent 2025 Fencing News Golf Day really did go with a swing! Taking place once again at the prestigious Belfry in Sutton Coldfield, the event attracted keen golfers from across the UK’s fencing and timber industries.

John Abbott of Arxada bagged the top prize in the Stableford competition, beating the course with an impressive 41 points. Neil Cunningham, also of Arxada, took second place notching a solid 36 points and Phil Emsley of the W&P Consultancy Ltd ended in third place with 35 points.

John Abbott also won the ‘nearest the pin’ competition with Matt Blackmore of the Fencing News team claiming the prize for longest drive.

Arxada won the team competition with 86 points whilst the ‘booby’ prize went to Scott Jones (M&M / Koppers) who brought up the rear with 19 points.

Fencing News’ Ben Walton exclaimed: “It was another great day of golf and a big thank you to everyone who took part and for W&P Consultancy for sponsoring the event once again.”
