GRIPPLE: THE ORIGINAL WIRE JOINER INNOVATORS LEADING THE NEXT ERA OF FENCING PERFORMANCE

Whether you’re putting up new fencing, repairing storm damage or installing a trellis system, the fundamentals stay the same: wires need fast, accurate tensioning, end posts must hold firm and the structure has to hold up season after season.

Contractors, growers, farmers and land managers all need kit that can be installed quickly, performs reliably, and stands up to weather, livestock, and time – and that’s exactly the gap Gripple set out to solve back in 1989.

A simple idea that reshaped an industry

An off-the-cuff comment from a farmer struggling with building a wire fence sparked the idea that led to Gripple’s existence, the original wire joining and tensioning solution.

Today, the principle is unchanged, but Gripple’s product range has grown into a complete system for joining, tensioning and maintaining wire. These solutions enable joining and tensioning in one step, remove the need for knots and ties, and allow for easy retensioning – which is why it’s used on major agricultural projects worldwide, including the 3,488 mile Dingo Fence, the longest in the world.

The original joinandtension concept

The Gripple Plus Range takes that founding idea further: a push-fit, join-and-tension-in-one solution covering 1.40-4.20mm wire and up to 600kg working loads. It eliminates knotting, cuts installation time and suits all fencing applications.

Reliability starts at the end posts

As any fencing professional knows, end posts are the critical load-bearing point – if that moves, everything else follows. That’s where the Gripple Plus Anchor Kit (GPAK) comes in, engineered to keep strainer posts firmly in position under tension. Each kit arrives ready to use, with galvanised wire rope and a high load capacity for bracing wooden or metal posts.

Fast terminations for awkward, tight spaces

For stock fencing, end posts, horse paddocks and awkward corners, the T-Clip provides a simple, secure twist-and-push termination that’s up to 5x faster than knotting, delivering a neat finish whether you’re working with plain or barbed wire and is compatible with both high tensile and mild steel wire.

It’s designed for quick, reliable installation: simply fit the T-Clip as close to the end post as possible, ideally inside the nearest vertical, and hand-fasten. It’s ideal for hard, high-tensile wires where knotting becomes cumbersome – precisely the kind of fiddly job where time is usually lost.

Barbed done better

Barbed wire work doesn’t have to be painful – in any sense. The Gripple Barbed High Tensile joiner uses patented technology to grip the unique profile of high tensile barbed wire, allowing joins or repairs in seconds, with an audible click confirming it’s locked. Designed to outlast the fence itself, it’s up to 16% stronger than a traditional knot and load rated to 400 kg.

The tool that makes light work of tensioning

The Gripple Torq Tensioning Tool regulates load as it tensions, delivering consistent results and maximising wire life. Lightweight and easy to handle for repetitive work, it operates on all Gripple tensioners up to 6mm. The tool applies up to 400kg of load thanks to its 6:1 geardrive mechanism, and the distinct “click” signals the moment set tension is achieved.

Still the original – and still innovating

Gripple has come a long way since the first wire joiner and tensioner, but the ethos is unchanged: solve real problems with expert engineering. What began as a single idea back in 1989 has grown into an evolving system, refined through on-the-ground collaboration and a commitment to constant innovation.
