THE SOUTHAM AUTOMATION REVOLUTION CONTINUES
From a business unit in a quiet Warwickshire village, the work of changing the face of fencing manufacturing carries on apace with their latest automated innovation ticking the boxes when it comes to efficiency and employee safety.
Introducing the Panel Stacker!
Southam Automation’s co-founder Brett Smith explained:
“We’ve been developing this strong, heavy-duty machine over the last year in response to requests from existing Panel Master customers who were looking for a safer and more effective way of stacking their feather edge panels.
“The automation process ejects the panels off the Panel Master smoothly into the stacker and then stacks them neatly into piles of 20 to 25 that can then be easily forklifted away. It eliminates the chances of any injuries that could result from carrying the panels by hand, enabling the operator to then just concentrate on feeding the machine and it ultimately improves productivity.
“We’ve already taken an order for the Panel Stacker and discussions are underway with a number of other potential customers. There seems to be a real appetite for a machine that takes the hard graft and risks out of the process of manufacturing fence panels.
“We have a prototype in our workshop that can be viewed by interested parties and are already putting the finishing touches to a version that can handle Waney Edge panels, a fencing solution that invariably increases in popularity during testing financial times.
“It has a small footprint at just 7 square metres and we can deliver and install right across the UK.
“We are all about continually improving processes and making the lives of fencing manufacturers easier,” added James.
If past successes are anything to go by, you’d expect Brett, James and the team to soon be stacked out with demand for this revolutionary innovation!
