STEWART DRUMMOND OF LADYWELL FENCING RECKONS IF ANYONE TOOK HIS MOST RECENT ACQUISITION AWAY FROM HIM, HE WOULD STOP FENCING.

“The Bryce 180 Pro has literally changed my life” says Stewart Drummond. ” I have been fencing for 30 years now and my brother Jim and I bought our first Bryce knocker in 1999.” Jim and Stewart mutually agreed to go their separate ways but at times still help each other out. ” We both use Bryce post drivers because they are heavy duty, durable and stand the pace. ”

Stewart works out of his father’s farm at Dunkeld in Perthshire in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. ” I work on my own and only take in Perthshire so that I can give customers a good service”. He has a lot of weapons at his disposal to make the job easier including a homemade converted tracked machine with a Bryce knocker on it for transporting materials on bigger contracts on high hill country that predominates in Perthshire. His other Bryce knocker can go on his tractor and this gives him the flexibility to attend another customer’s needs. He also has a Quickfencer on the front of his John Deere tractor, and a quadbike. ” I only use the Quickfencer for running out the net as there are far too many ups and downs, twists and turns to make tensioning the net with it a time-saving option. I’ve tried it” says Stewart ” it’s too much hassle, but on the rare big long easy pulls, it’s grand”.

“I use traditional straining clamps and always strain the net to the middle on these twisty runs to get a tight and even net tension”.

His current work is on Scone Palace Estates and Glen Almond Estates with a peppering of others scattered throughout the County.

Stewart Drummond acquires all his work by offering a quality job with no shortcuts and on the Scone Palace contract he is just completing 3500 metres of high tensile stock net with 1.65 x 75 x 75 posts at 3m centres with more work to follow. It’s a hard contract with every one of the 153 strainers having to be rockspiked due to a seam of glacial stone and boulders. ” The Bryce 180 has allowed me on my own to complete this job in 5 weeks. All the strainers are 2.4mts long x 190mm diameter profiled kiln dried treated Scots Pine , as are the posts. The Bryce rockspikes this ground and drives these posts with ease” says Stewart. There are 20 separate strains of fence on this contract and he has also hung 16 x 14ft gates plus railing so it is easy to understand that having completed all this work on this type of ground in 5 weeks why he is so blown away by the capabilities of the 180 Pro.

“It’s an amazing bit of kit, what a difference, it has changed my life and it has taken my business to a whole new level.” “The whole machine is so well thought out and very well put together with a lot of great features which in my opinion makes it unbeatable “.
