KNOXFIELD ESTATE SERVICES EXPAND THEIR BUSINESS USING BRYCE MACHINES

Lewis Knox Started His Business 12 Years Ago Trading As Knoxfield Estate Services. With a good reputation, 3 good squads and quality equipment, the die is cast for continued success.

I started the business 12 years ago with the idea of offering an estate maintenance service for fencing, spraying, forestry and drystone dyking within the Perthshire area. It wasn’t long before the majority of our work became mostly fencing and we bought our first post driver for £1500.

After a year and a few large fencing jobs I decided to buy my first Valtra tractor and a Bryce Suma Profi Supreme with a rock spike. The new machine and the addition of a rock spike made our fencing more efficient than before. All our Bryce machines now have a rock spike and we pilot a hole for every strainer. With the increase in demand for our work and lead times becoming several months, we bought our second Valtra tractor and Bryce Suma Profi Supreme and started running a second squad bringing down the lead time on jobs and allowing us to expand our customer base.

Our customer base kept growing through word of mouth and recommendations, so with the lead time starting to increase again and with some large fencing projects planned later that year, we decided to add another string to our bow and this time bought the new Bryce 180 Pro . With speaking to a few other contractors who have them and the good reviews and comments coming back, there was no better option. The one man operation, manoeuvrability, design features and build quality were the big reasons in our decision to go with the 180 Pro.

The 180 Pro came in to its own when working on an 11km woodland scheme up Glenesk on some very steep, rocky and uneven ground. Every fenceline on this contract set a new challenge and the 180Pro amazed me how it managed to get about the site and always answer the call.

We have had the machine just on 12 months now and it never fails to impress. On one part of the scheme I was able to weave my way up a severely steep section picking my way through boulder fields and by using the power slew was always able to transfer the weight of the machine to give the required balance and traction. Despite the severity of the ground it always felt completely safe even the digger driver who was mounding for trees further down the hill looked on in amazement at  how this machine managed to make its way up this very steep hill face. I would challenge anyone with any other make of tracked post driver to get to the top of that hill, that is how confident we are that the Bryce 180 Pro is the most versatile and able tracked post driver on the market.

None of this expansion would have been possible without 2 main factors, the quality of staff and the productivity of the Bryce Suma machinery. I now run 3 squads of quality men who work to the highest of standards and their dedication and pride they take in their work shows in the quality of the finished fence. I regularly get calls from customers to say what a great hard working bunch of guys I have working for me.
