LOCHRIN BAIN MATCHES MESH WITH PALISADE INNOVATION

Perimeter security specialists Lochrin Bain are continuing to drive innovation in the sector from their manufacturing plant in Cumbernauld.

In recent months the 161-yearold firm has introduced two new palisade products that go toe-totoe with existing mesh systems, achieving industry first security accreditations along the way.

Commercial Manager Stephen Russell explained: ‘’We are pleased to announce that our latest Combi™ Palisade Fencing designs have achieved Security Rating A1 (SR1) and B3 (SR2) to LPS 1175 Issue:8, an Industry first for Perimeter Security Manufacturers.

“We have designed various specifications of this fence over the years ranging from CPNI rated for critical national infrastructure through to our first SR3 design in 2016.

“Having patented palisade systems that can compete against SR1 and SR2 rated mesh alternatives, such as 358, while offering the same attack delay times and at a similar cost had been something that was missing from our portfolio until now.

“Palisade has always held different advantages to mesh panel systems, including its capability to rake easily over uneven grounds whilst offering greater tolerances during installation.

“Traditional designs gained bad press over the years with recent attack tests proving that a generic front fix pales allow the fence to be breached in under 12 seconds using basic hand tools.

“Using these new Combi™ Palisade SR1 and SR2 Designs Architects, Security Consultants and Contractors can now safely specify products that offers clients a formidable fence line at a competitive price,” added Stephen.

The systems are ‘Secured By Design’ and conform to BS1722 Part 12 : 2016 carrying full certification to LPS 1175 Security Rating A1 and B3 Issue:8 as featured in the BRE Red Book.

Stephen continued: “To ensure a complete security solution both pedestrian and vehicle access gates have been designed to complement each system gaining the required security rating and the fencing can be integrated with security solutions such as PIDS and security toppings for added security.

“Each system is supplied galvanized as standard with a choice of polyester powder-coated colours available and all come with Lochrin Bain’s standard 25 year design life warranty when installed by approved contractors.

“These systems have been nine months in the making and represent a real first for the industry. It’s testament to the skills and knowledge of our R&D team that they’ve resulted in this high level of accreditation.
