SCOTTISH FENCING CONTRACTOR BENEFITS FROM BRAND CHANGE
Offering a fencing service within a 100-mile radius of his company’s headquarters at Tain, Scotland Ryan Murray relies on versatile machinery capable of working in the toughest conditions.
“We have built up a very successful business over the past five years,” explains Ryan, “mainly carrying out fencing work for Scottish Woodlands on behalf of Scottish Rail as well as for farmers across the region.”
Many worksites pose a challenge for Ryan and his team with difficult access and demanding terrain and when he was due to update one of his two post drivers he needed something more versatile than the machines used at the time.
“I heard about the WRAG range of post drivers and contacted the company which is based near Rocester, Staffordshire. I was amazed at how helpful Tim Wright was discussing their range of products and which might suit my needs best. Within a week I had a visit from Tim during which we discussed solutions further and he provided the names of several current users we could speak with to discuss their experiences of the WRAG range and the company’s back-up.
“I placed an order a week later and was told delivery would be within 10 weeks and, as promised, the WRAG Opus 300 Track Post Driver arrived, replacing one of my two other machines. It’s very agile, capable of getting to and working on steep ground safely and much better suited to our situation than the two post drivers we used at that time which were of a more conventional design mounted to tracked vehicles.”
Ryan said the performance of the new Opus 300 is excellent and all its users are impressed with the ease of use, build quality and design.
“Everything breaks eventually and because we are so busy with a growing business we can’t afford downtime. For many suppliers our remote location is a problem but from what we have experienced so far I’m sure WRAG will react quickly if we have a problem and with all components manufactured in the UK, rapid delivery of replacement parts is guaranteed. When we update our second post driver I have no doubt its replacement will be another WRAG and we are also keen to look at WRAG’s new lighter post driver as this could be towed by a pick-up making it ideal for contracts further from home,” he explained.
Scottish fencing contractor Ryan Murray Fencing is based at Tain and says he feels confident of the after-sales service from WRAG which manufactured and supplied his latest post driver. The Opus 300 is used mainly to erect stock fencing on challenging terrain.
Ryan Murray’s WRAG Opus 300 Post Driver is equipped with a 300kg hammer and has up to 4.2m under hammer clearance. It was ordered with optional rock spike, rear carrier and a tow bar.
