SOUTHAM AUTOMATION ON TRACK FOR RECORD YEAR

It’s been an outstanding year to date for Warwickshire-based Southam Automation with a significant increase in sales for their fence panel manufacturing machinery.

Co-founder Brett Smith explained: “We’ve had a lot of enquiries so far and are in the process of preparing a number of machines for customers all over the UK and Ireland. We’ve already doubled last year’s turnover in the first six months of 2025 so it’s looking like it will be our best year yet,” added Brett who attributes Southam’s success to good customer relations.

“We try to treat people right. It’s a conscious thing and ingrained in our operations that we never apply any pressure when it comes to making sales. Potential customers get to see and experience how good our Panel Masters are and learn about their longevity and production capabilities and then the decision is up to them. It’s an approach that works for all parties.”

“Our new website has also been well received. It took us a while to get an online presence sorted but it’s now playing a big part in helping us to spread the word.”

“One of our customers just down the road has already manufactured almost 50,000 panels in just a few short years and the machine is still going strong. Of the fifty or so machines we’ve built in the last few years, not one has encountered any issues. We do pride ourselves on rigorous engineering excellence and attention to detail,” added Brett.

Southam recently bought back an old machine they sold to a customer in the north east way back in the late 1990s. Brett went on: “It’s still working perfectly well and that says a lot about the machines we construct. They are made to last using the best quality components and engineering know how.”

“We will never change that ethos and never cut corners!” concluded Brett.
