THE BRITISH OPEN FENCING COMPETITION IS OPEN FOR ENTRIES

As part of McVeigh Parker’s commitment to innovation and in celebration of introducing Clipex posts to the UK over 10 years ago, we are delighted to announce our sponsorship of a brand new fencing competition at this year’s APF show. New for 2024 is the inaugural

“The British Open Speed fencing competition” this will involve using the latest innovations such as the all steel Clipex posts, Triple X all steel strainers and X fence wire. All erected using the latest in joining and tensioning technology from the likes of Gripple and Strainrite. Teams will be pitch against each other throughout the day of the 19th September, with the winners being chosen from the fastest time as well as the quality of their work.

After the success of the British Open Fencing competition in 2022, we are thrilled to once again be hosting and sponsoring the 2024 event at the APF show, Ragley Estate on 19-21 September 2024.

The event will be judged by a panel of judges from a far away as New Zealand, rules and points will be similar to 2022 with some added additions. The event will involve installing 60m of stock fence and two lines of wire on timber posts, using traditional methods and hand tools on the infamous APF hill. The main event will be held on the 20th September.

Cash and trophy prizes will be awarded to the winners and runners up, kindly sponsored by our leading suppliers – Clipex Fencing, Summit Steel, Gripple, Robertson Engineering Ltd, Scanpole.

This is a highly regarded competition with high application demand. Interested teams are encouraged to register their interest to go in the grand draw for places. Names will be drawn nearer the event.
