TORNADO WIRE PROMOTING FENCE QUALITY AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT IN THE INDUSTRY
Established over five decades ago from farming and fence installation, Tornado Wire remains focused on advancing the profession and enhancing the standard and quality of craftsmanship. We support the AFI Best Practice Days and sponsor multiple fencing competitions to achieve this goal.
Some of the best fencers from across the UK, Ireland, and even New Zealand will be showcasing their skills at the Tornado Wire 40th Anniversary Fencing Competition at NSA Sheep 2024 in Malvern on July 30th. Bringing together international teams creates opportunities to learn new techniques and further elevate standards within the industry.
We are also proud to be involved in the Irish Stock Fencing Championship, which continues to grow in popularity. Year after year, the quality of craftsmanship noticeably improves.
In addition, Tornado Wire and AFI will host a social evening for professional contractors following the fencing competition. This event is an ideal opportunity for contractors to come together after an action-packed day, unwind, and “talk shop” in an informal setting.
In June, we supported the NSA Scotsheep Fencing Competition, where eight professional fencing teams competed in a closely fought event. The driving force behind the competition, Lewis Knox, said,
“It was great to have the support of Tornado again as this was my second time.”
Peter Hogg, who heads up Tornado Wire, commented:
“The 40th Anniversary Tornado competition had a record number of entrants, so we know that some great fencers weren’t fortunate enough to get picked out of the hat. What this shows is that competition fencing is growing in popularity in the UK as more professionals push themselves to develop their skills. At Tornado, we are delighted to work with the AFI in promoting fence quality and skills development within the industry.”
Malcolm Blackford, Sales Manager, added:
“We have built our reputation on providing the highest quality fencing materials aimed at professional fencing contractors. Events such as fencing competitions and AFI Best Practice Days enable us to understand what contractors are really looking for. One example is the new Pro-Strain steel straining system, which has been designed with input from contractors, for contractors.”
