TRADA’S BETTER TIMBER BUILDINGS DIGITAL CONFERENCE NOW AVAILABLE TO BOOK

Tickets to TRADA’s annual flagship event, which is going online for the first time ever this November, are now on sale. Free for TRADA members, non-members can also join in at £30 +VAT per session.

The Better Timber Buildings conference, which usually attracts around 200 delegates, covers hard-hitting topics fundamental to the continued development of the timber industry. This year will be no different, with two separate, digestible events dedicated to: meeting tighter fire regulations using structural timber; and ensuring structural timber remains durable. Now you can attend the conference from the comfort of your own home or office.

The first event, which takes place on 5 November 2020, will see three leading practitioners – Danny Hopkin, OFR Fire and Risk Consultants; Jonathan Roynon, BuroHappold; and Ben Price, B&K Structures – share their solutions to creating elegant designs using structural timber to satisfy client needs while also meeting tough, new regulatory requirements.

The second event, which will take place on 11 November 2020, sees Jennifer Eriksson of Stora Enso and TRADA’s Lewis Taylor deliver some much-needed guidance on managing moisture effectively in CLT buildings. This guidance, confirmed by a methodical testing programme commissioned by Stora Enso, a major CLT supplier, was first introduced at last year’s conference.

Delegates will have the opportunity to pose their questions to the presenter of their choosing. If you have any questions in advance, please send TRADA’s Jane Lomas an email on jlomas@trada.co.uk.

The Better Timber Buildings conference is sponsored by TRADA members SHERPA and ZÜBLIN.
